UFC Fight Night 43 has picked up another compelling lightweight fight, as Ross Pearson will battle Diego Sanchez at the June 7th event. The card will be hosted by the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, and will feature former lightweight champ Benson Henderson taking on Rustam Khabilov in the headliner.

News of the lightweight fight was reported first by the Albuquerque Journal, and was announced by the promotion afterwards.

Pearson (15-6, 1 NC) will be competing for the first time since last October, when he was badly cut by an illegal knee strike from Melvin Guillard. The bout was declared a no contest, and then re-booked for earlier this month, but a knee injury forced Pearson’s withdrawal.

Prior to the no-contest result, the British fighter had scored stoppage wins over Ryan Couture and George Sotiropoulos.

Sanchez (24-7) is looking to rebound from consecutive decision losses to Gilbert Melendez and Myles Jury,  the latter of which took place at UFC 171.

The New Mexico fighter is 2-3 in his last 5 fights.
