By FCF Staff
After coming in over weight for his UFC Fight Night 44 bout Saturday with Nico Musoke, Kelvin Gastelum has apologized for the infraction.
Gastelum initially weighed in at 173 for the bout, and for his second attempt, the former TUF winner came in at 172.5. Afterwards the 8-0 fighter relayed via Twitter:
Weight was low this week. Cutting process went wrong but still no excuse. I apologize 2 every1 Nico And @ufc I'm extremely disappointed

The 22 year-old fighter has hired weight cutting guru Mike Dolce in the past to make weight, however this time around, Gastelum did not.
Gastelum will have to forfeit 20% of his purse for missing weight.
The welterweight is coming off a split decision win over Rick Story in March.
