UFC FN 44’s Jeremy Stephens: “I’m a Lot More Powerful at 145”
By FCF Staff
Jeremy Stephens forged a reputation for possessing stopping power when he competed as a lightweight, and the veteran says that’s especially true now that he’s competing at 145.
Stephens, who has won three straight fights since dropping to featherweight, is set to fight fellow contender Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 44 on Saturday night.
While appearing on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight”, here is some of what Stephens had to say about the drop to 145, and his title prospects (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):
“I feel like I’m a completely different fighter,” said Stephens, who is coming off victories over Darren Elkins, Rony “Jason” and Estevan Payan. “You have to be willing to evolve and adapt. I’m a lot more powerful at 145.”
“I can adapt to anyone’s style in the division. I’m strong and fast and just as explosive and feel like I have the power to knock out the champion.”
UFC FN 44 will be hosted by the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
