When Pat Healy returned to the UFC last year, the rugged vet was armed with a six fight win streak, which had established him as one of Strikeforce’s top lightweights.

Since his memorable bout against Jim Miller at UFC 159 (Healy’s win was overturned due to a positive test for marijuana), however, “Bam Bam” has dropped three bouts in a row. As a result, the pressure’s on as Healy gets ready to fight Gleison Tibau at UFC Fight Night 45.

In a recent interview with UFC.com, the 30 year-old lightweight had this to say about his recent bouts:

“I just have to get back to the way I used to fight, the Strikeforce days,” Healy said. “I tried to adjust my fighting style, trying to correct things in my fight game, but that led me to change the way I approach my fights. I can make adjustments and keep improving without changing it up too much now, and I’m ready to put it all together.”

“It’s never easy to dissect one’s own game and make changes, but it’s necessary in this sport, which is constantly evolving,” the noted grappler added. “You have to keep learning and keep improving all the time.”

UFC FN 45 will go down July 16th at the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
