After going 1-1 in the UFC’s lightweight division, the promotion has announced that Ernest Chavez is moving to featherweight and will fight Mirsad Bektic on August 23rd.

The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 49, which will be hosted by the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Chavez (7-1) is coming off a submission loss to Elias Silverio at the TUF Brazil III Finale, after earning a split decision over Yosdenis Cedeno at UFC 170.

Bektic (8-0) made his Octagon debut in April, and worked his way to a majority decision win over Chas Skelly.

UFC FN 49 will feature a lightweight bout between Benson Henderson and Rafael dos Anjos, as well as a welterweight fight between Thiago Alves and Jordan Mein.
