UFC FN 51: “Bigfoot” Silva Believes Another Title Shot’s Within Reach
By FCF Staff
Although Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva was quickly stopped by UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez in May, 2013, and once before in 2012, the dangerous fighter hasn’t lost sight of securing another title shot.
In fact, while speaking to UFC.com recently about his bout tonight with Andrei Arlovski, Silva relayed:
“It (a win over Arlovski) would put me one step ahead and I believe that with one more win after that I will show that I’m ready for the title shot again.”
Silva, who hasn’t fought since last December when he battled Mark Hunt to a draw, is currently ranked #4. Arlovski is positioned at #14. The latter is coming off a split decision win over Brendan Schaub in June.
The two will scrap at UFC Fight Night 51, which will take place in Silva’s hometown of Brasilia, Brazil.
“There will be a lot of emotions because I have never fought with the crowd cheering for me,” Silva noted. “This will be the first time.”
UFC FN 51 will be available for viewing throughout North American via UFC Fight Pass.
