For much of today’s UFC Fight Night 64 headliner it looked like Gabriel Gonzaga was going to record another win over Mirko “Cro Cop”, but the legend came from behind to score a thrilling, stoppage win.

Gonzaga moved ahead on the scorecards in the opening two rounds, by taking “Cro Cop” down and controlling the action. Before round two concluded, Gonzaga opened up a large cut beside “Cro Cop’s” left eye.

In round three, however, “Cro Cop” wobbled Gonzaga with a cracking, standing elbow, and proceeded to batter and bloody the heavyweight with a series of follow up shots on the ground. After several more moments the bout was stopped.

The fight marked the second time the two had fought, as in 2007, Gonzaga KO’d “Cro Cop” with a head kick.
