After suffering his first loss in five years, Norman Parke is looking to get back on track at UFC Fight Night 67, and the lightweight won’t play it safe to do so.

Parke will take on Francisco Trinaldo at the event, which will mark the first time the Northern Ireland fighter has competed since January, when he was decisioned by Gleison Tibau. Prior to the bout, Parke hadn’t lost since 2010, when he was submitted by Joseph Duffy.

“Stormin” recently spoke to UFC.com about his next bout, and while doing so, Parke (20-3-1) relayed the following:

“I’m in shape to fight,” Parke said. “I’m fit and I’m healthy, so I’m one hundred percent confident in what I’m a capable of doing. I know if the opportunity presents itself, I’m going to be pushing the pace and trying to finish him. I know he’s a tough lad, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve tasted defeat already and I know what it feels like, so I’m coming in there with bad intentions. That’s my frame of mind right now. I’m coming to fight, and for 15 minutes if need be because I’m not going to take my foot off the gas. I’m just gonna keep coming forward and we’re going to have a fight. There ain’t no stepping back. We’re there to fight from bell to finish and I’m not gonna stop for no one.”

Trinaldo (16-4), meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back wins over Leandro Silva and Akbarh Arreola. The Brazilian fighter is 3-2 in his last 5 contests.

UFC FN 67 will be hosted by the Goiania Arena in Brazil.
