UFC FN 68: Dan Henderson Says Silencing Retirement Talk “Feels Great”

Having stopped Tim Boetsch in highlight reel fashion at UFC Fight Night 68 on Saturday, Dan Henderson has effectively silenced all the retirement talk that was tied to the legendary fighter recently.

Since the 44 year-old Henderson was coming off consecutive losses, and had dropped 5 of his last 6 fights prior to Saturday, there was considerable speculation as to whether the bout would be his last. The oddsmakers had Boetsch as the favorite leading up to the June 6th fight.

Henderson rocked Boetsch with a right hand not long in, however, and then finished the deal with follow up strikes. Following his latest victory, which lasted just 28 seconds, Henderson had this to say in his post-fight interview (quote via UFC.com):

“I can’t feel bad about that one,” Henderson said. “When I say I’m not done, and nobody believes me, to actually come out and prove that I’m not quite done yet, it feels great.”

With the win, Henderson moved his overall record to 31-13.
