Glover Teixeira still has some work to do before he locks up another title shot, but the powerful fighter is already warning Daniel Cormier that he’s coming for the light-heavyweight’s belt.

Teixeira will fight Ovince Saint Preux tomorrow night at UFC Fight Night 73, after losing by decision to now former champ Jon Jones last April, and then Phil Davis in October. The noted finisher, who had won five straight fights in the UFC to earn a bout with Jones, is the promotion’s #4 ranked 205ér.

The 35 year-old fighter recently appeared on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight“, and here is some of what Teixeira had to say about OSP and his title shot hunt (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“He’s a powerful and dangerous fighter,” Teixeira said about OSP. “You can’t sleep for a second with him. You have to keep moving. I have to work my way in and can’t get caught with the counter. He’s a good counterpuncher. I have to use my speed and ability to close the distance, take him down and ground and pound him.”

“DC is a great guy and great champion. He did a great fight for the title. He deserved what he got, but I told him in Vegas: ‘Shine that belt, I’m coming for you, baby.’ Cormier, I’m fighting Saturday night, you watch the fight and let me know what you think.”

Saint Preux, meanwhile, has knocked out Patrick Cummins and “Shogun” Rua in his last two outings, and is currently ranked #6.

Cormier will defend the belt versus Alexander Gustafsson on October 3rd at UFC 192.
