Although Frankie Perez put away Sam Stout in just 54 seconds tonight at UFC Fight Night 74, and recorded his first Octagon win, the lightweight announced he’s hanging up the gloves.

Perez floored Stout with a right hook not long into the bout, and after landing several follow up shots, the fight was stopped. While speaking to UFC announcer Jon Anik after the win, the 26 year-old Perez announced he’s ready for the next chapter of his life and that he’s retiring from fighting.

The New Jersey fighter, who was coming off a stoppage loss to Johnny Case, retires with a record of 10-2.

UFC FN 74 is being hosted by Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
