Dominick Cruz didn’t take TJ Dillashaw out in highlight reel fashion to reclaim the bantamweight title, but plenty of people are praising him for his memorable performance, including Brian Stann.

Cruz and Dillashaw battled it out for five, action packed rounds at UFC Fight Night 81 on Sunday, and after the bout, “The Dominator” was handed the split decision win. In the post-fight show for FOX Sports, here is some of what commentator and the retired fighter had to say about Cruz (quote via FOX Sports press release):

“We talked about how TJ has never faced someone who moves like Cruz and it was frustrating him,” said Stann. “TJ has never swung and missed in his career like this before because of the movement by Cruz. The takedowns that Dom scored were key in the very close rounds. It was an absolutely brilliant performance by Cruz. I’m telling you, nobody wants to fight this guy next. If he looks this good after this layoff, god help you for his next fight.”

With the win, Cruz moved his record to 21-1 and his winning streak to 12. The 30 year-old fighter was stripped of the title in 2014 after incurring back-to-back knee injuries.
