Former WSOF competitor and Maximum Fighting Championship title holder, Elvis Mutapcic, will make his UFC debut on January 17th.

The promotion has announced that the fighter is stepping in for the injured Abdul-Kerim Edilov against light-heavyweight Francimar Barroso.

Mutapcic (15-3), who is coming off a stoppage win over Sean Huffman, had been scheduled to fight Anthony Smith for the Victory FC middleweight title on January 29th.

Barroso (17-4) scored a unanimous decision win over Ryan Jimmo in his last bout, which took place in May, 2015.

The UFC has also confirmed that Mairbek Taisumov has withdraw from his fight with Chris Wade due to injury, and that lightweight Mehdi Baghdad has taken his place.

UFC FN 81 will be hosted by Boston’s TD Garden.
