Alex Oliveira is going to battle Donald Cerrone in a welterweight fight at UFC Fight Night 83, and the Brazilian believes the lightweight contender is going to notice a big difference.

Cerrone was originally scheduled to fight surging welterweight Tim Means at the February 21st event, but the latter was pulled from the event, due to a potential anti-doping violation. Oliveira, who has competed at 170 before, agreed to step in and fight the American.

Recently Oliveira spoke to UFC.com about the upcoming fight, and while discussing the fact it will take place at welterweight, “Cowboy” said the following:

“Welterweight and lightweight are two very different divisions,” Oliveira said. “I believe that he will feel my power.”

“I don’t know” added Oliveira, when asked if he could see a run at 170 materializing. “This is something I have to think about, but my preference is still the lightweight division.”

UFC FN 83 will be hosted by Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center.
