Anthony Smith has been actively campaigning for another shot in the UFC, and now the middleweight veteran has received it.

Recently the promotion announced that Smith is replacing Trevor Smith at UFC Fight Night 83 this weekend, who was scheduled to face Leonardo Augusto Leleco (11-1). No details regarding why Trevor Smith has withdrawn were provided.

Smith (24-11) is riding a seven fight winning streak, and is coming off a stoppage win over Josh Neer on January 31st, at Victory FC 47. In December, Lionheart” appeared on Full Contact Fighter Radio, and the middleweight talked about his hope to return to the UFC.

UFC FN 83 will be headlined by a welterweight fight between Donald Cerrone and Alex Oliveira. Sunday’s card will take place in Pittsburgh.
