UFC FN 84’s Michael Bisping: “When I Beat Anderson, I Should Get my Damn Title Shot”

Michael Bisping is only two fights removed from a loss to the reigning middleweight champ, Luke Rockhold, but the perennial contender believes a title shot will be in order if he defeats Anderson Silva.

The veterans will fight on February 27th, in the headliner for UFC Fight Night 84 in London. The bout will be the first time Silva has competed since last January, when he decisioned Nick Diaz, but proceeded to test positive for performance enhancing drugs.

Recently the promotion held open workouts to promote the upcoming fight, and afterwards, Bisping had this to say about his title shot hopes (quote via UFC.com):

“I think when I beat Anderson Silva, (then) I’ve won four of my last five fights. I’ve been a perennial contender for 10 years in the UFC. This is my 11th year with the company. The only guy to beat me in my last five fights was the world champion. When I beat Anderson, I should get my damn title shot. Dana (White), come on.”

Bisping is currently ranked #6 in the UFC’s 185 division. Rockhold, meanwhile, is expected to rematch former champ Chris Weidman in June.
