UFC FN 89: Donald Cerrone Wants to Stay Busy, But Really Isn’t Happy With Current Pay….

Donald Cerrone

Donald Cerrone is looking to fight as-soon-as-possible, following his impressive win over Patrick Cote on Saturday, but it sounds like he may want a pay raise first.

Cerrone dominated Cote from the opening bell at UFC Fight Night 89, and eventually put away the rugged vet with punches in round three. The bout was “Cowboy’s” second in a row at welterweight, and his second victory, following a stoppage loss to lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in December,

Following the event, Cerrone was asked about he means to the company, considering his versatility and finishing abilities. The New Mexico fighter stated (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“(The bonuses) all sound nice – according to my pay I don’t mean (expletive) to the UFC,” Cerrone said. “But we’ll see. (I’m) going to talk to Dana after this and figure that out.”

Cerrone picked up a “Performance of the Night” bonus and an extra $50,000 for the win. The 33 year-old proceeded to say that he’s interested in fighting at welterweight, or lightweight next; whatever lands him a bout quicker.
