UFC FN 92: Trevor Smith Outlines Why he “Felt Bad” For Dan Miller Prior to Bout
By FCF Staff
As Trevor Smith prepares to fight Joseph Gigliotti this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 92, the middleweight’s revealed he felt badly for the last opponent he faced, Dan Miller.
Smith (13-6) took on the rugged vet last July, which marked the first time “Hot Sauce” had fought, since he was KO’d by Caio Magalhaes in November, 2014. Recently Smith spoke to UFC.com about this weekend’s bout, and while doing so, the 35 year-old said this about his last bout:
“I actually felt bad for Dan Miller having to make his comeback fighting me,” Smith said. “I’m sure he had different expectations, like other people who have seen my old fights. They had an expectation I was going to come out, I was going to gas, I was not going to do this or not going to do that. I felt bad after that fight. I wanted to say he wasn’t fighting the same Trevor Smith. He was fighting somebody different, so it’s not fair to judge him off those scorecards because he fought somebody completely different. I want to change people’s expectations from what they’ve seen in the past. I want to increase my value with the UFC and with my fan base.”
Gigliotti (7-0) will be making his Octagon debut at UFC FN 92, which will be hosted by Salt Lake City, Utah.
