UFC FN 98: Kenny Florian’s Picking RDA to Defeat Tony Ferguson, Says Latter Has “Tendency to Get Sloppy”

Rafael dos Anjos

Tony Ferguson has won eight straight fights, and has continued to finish opponents during that time, but Kenny Florian believes Rafael dos Anjos is going to end “El Cucuy’s” run.

Ferguson and dos Anjos will fight in the main event of UFC Fight Night 98, which will take place tomorrow in Mexico City. During the latest “UFC Tonight”, Florian was asked to weigh-in on the pivotal, lightweight bout, and here is some of what he had to say (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“He puts a lot of pressure on fighters,” Florian said while discussing RDA’s keys to victory. “He’s dangerous on the mat or on the feet. He’s got to back Ferguson up. He’s got to throw leg kicks and slow down Ferguson. He’s got to have good footwork and get in and out with his strikes.”

“Ferguson has a tendency to get sloppy and against Dos Anjos that will make him susceptible,” Florian added, after he reportedly said he’s picking RDA to win. “I think Dos Anjos will have extra fire behind him.”

Dos Anjos will be looking to get back on track after he was stopped by Eddie Alvarez in July, and lost the lightweight title.
