UFC Hall of Famer and former PRIDE Grand Prix Champion Mark Coleman is reportedly dealing with medical and financial complications, after the retired fighter underwent surgery recently.

According to a Go Fund Me campaign that’s been started for Coleman, doctors discovered an infection on Monday, when the 50 year-old was undergoing another hip replacement surgery. As a result the decorated wrestler remains in hospital.

According to a report from MMA Fighting.com doctors have inserted a plastic hip, which will be removed once the infection subsides.

The Go Fund Me post, which is titled “Save the Hammer” and was set up by Coleman’s friend and fellow UFC vet, Wes Sims, says the fighter remains in debt from the surgery he underwent last year. The campaign also says that Coleman’s health insurance is set to expire.

Coleman retired from pro fighting in 2010 after he was submitted by fellow legend, Randy Couture.
