Although Browne landed several hard shots to Werdum early in the fight, the latter went on to score a clear, unanimous decision win. As a result, Werdum is expected to fight champion Cain Velasquez later this year.
Browne was on a three fight, winning streak heading into the bout, which included KO victories over Gabriel Gonzaga, Josh Barnett and Alistair Overeem.
