UFC on FOX 13: Dana White Thinks Judges Scored JDS-Stipe Miocic “Right”

UFC President Dana White

By FCF Staff

Following Saturday’s epic and bloody slugfest between Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic at UFC on FOX 13, it didn’t take fans long to debate whether the judges made the right decision.

Dos Santos was awarded the UD victory by a 48-47, 49-46, 49-46, which seemed to surprise more than a few people, particularly the 49-46 scores.

While speaking to FOX Sports Live after the memorable fight, here is what UFC President Dana White had to say about the judge’s scoring (quote via FOX Sports press release):

“I think they had it right. I think Dos Santos won. He took a lot of damage in that fight. A couple of those rounds were close. If that was a three-round fight, Stipe might have won two rounds to one, but Stipe kind of shut down at the end.”

The bout marked the first time dos Santos has fought since last October, when he was stopped by reigning champ Cain Velasquez.

Miocic, meanwhile, was coming off a quick, TKO win over Fabio Maldonado in May.
