Rashad Evans has been tasked with defeating one of the most dangerous light-heavyweights on the UFC roster, but the former champ is confident he has the plan and abilities to defeat Glover Teixeira.

Evans and Teixeira will fight in the main event of UFC on FOX 19, which will go down on Saturday. Evans is looking to return to the win column, after he was decisioned by Ryan Bader in October. That bout marked the first time the TUF veteran had fought in nearly two years.

Recently “Suga” appeared on “UFC Tonight”, and while discussing his strategy to defeat Teixeira, Evans stated (quote via FOX Sports press release):

“He has power in both hands and he knows how to come forward with pressure. He has good wrestling take down defense and things that are hard to stop.  I’ll have to utilize my speed, take down defense and get him to expend energy with defending my shots.”

Teixeira, who stopped Bader in 2013, is coming off a TKO win over Patrick Cummins in November.

UFC on FOX 19 will take place in Tampa, Florida.
