Kyle Bochniak continue to prepare for his second UFC bout, as the featherweight will battle Enrique Barzola at UFC on FOX 21, which will feature Carlos Condit vs. Demian Maia in the headliner.

Recently the Massachusetts fighter appeared on Full Contact Fighter Radio, and during the interview, Bochniak was asked to weigh-in on the main event. Recently Condit praised Maia for his world class abilities, but the welterweight argued his opponent has played it “safe” at times, and that his style is not fan friendly.

“I think it’s a phenomenal main event,” said Bochniak, when asked for his take on the headliner, in light of Condit’s comments. “Demian Maia has mastered the jiu-jitsu style for MMA. There’s no one else out there. He’s the best at it, and he proves it over-and-over again. Condit is a beast, he’s relentless and he’s super aggressive. He’s really good on his back as well.”

“I think it’s going to be a good fight,” the 6-1 fighter added. “I think it’s an awesome main event for anyone who follows MMA, who really knows what MMA is about, likes fighting, the jiu-jitsu, the ground and mixing it in with striking. It’s a phenomenal main event.”

Maia (23-6) is riding a five fight winning streak heading into the bout, and is coming off a submission win over Matt Brown. Condit (30-9) hasn’t fought since January when he dropped  a tightly contested, split decision loss to now former champ, Robbie Lawler.

And who does “Crash” believe will win the upcoming contest?

“I’m probably going to have to go with Maia” said Bochniak. “He’s on a hot streak right now and he’s a grinder, he’s an anaconda. He just knows how to take the fight where he wants to take it, and beat you up and finish you.”

UFC on FOX 21 will be hosted by Vancouver, British Columbia, on August 27th.
