At UFC on FOX 21 tonight, Carlos Condit will be fighting for the first time since he faced Robbie Lawler in January, and the welterweight contender is still proud of what he showcased that evening.

Condit took on Lawler at UFC 195, who at the time, was the reigning welterweight king. The bout was so entertaining, and so competitive, that many fans called for an instant rematch, after Lawler was awarded the split decision win.

The perennial contender, who is booked to take on Demian Maia in the UFC on FOX  21 headliner, recently spoke to UFC.com. While doing so, Condit had this to say about his memorable bout with Lawler.

“That was a tough thing,” Condit said. “I fought my ass off that night and I trained my ass off in preparation for that fight. I’m so proud of my performance. I went out there and literally left everything I had in the cage that night. I think my stock rose even though I lost the fight.”

UFC on FOX 21 will be hosted by Vancouver’ Rogers Arena.
