Dustin Poirier would love the opportunity to battle both Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez again, but the lightweight’s primary focus is UFC lightweight gold.

Poirier is booked to fight fellow contender Justin Gaethje tonight, in what will be the headliner for UFC on FOX 29. If Poirier win’s, he’ll extend his undefeated streak to four, and will be in the thick of the title shot race.

Recently “The Diamond” spoke with MMA Junkie, and while discussing whether he wants rematches with rivals Conor McGregor or Eddie Alvarez, Poirier stated:

“Of course I’d love to get a rematch with Conor and try to right some wrongs and mistakes I made in the (UFC 178 fight that McGregor won via knockout)” Poirier said. “But I’m fighting to be a world champion, not to catch rematches and hold grudges.”

“Of course I want to beat Eddie’s ass, because he’s a punk,” Poirier said. “But I’m chasing gold, I’m not chasing rematches.

McGregor stopped Poirier in the opening round of their 2014 bout, while the latter’s 2017 bout with Alvarez was declared a no-contest, due to an illegal knee the former UFC champ landed.

UFC on FOX 29 will take place in Glendale, Arizona.
