UFC On Fox 3 Set For May 5, Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller and John Dodson vs. Darren Uyenoyama Booked

Nate Diaz

By Joshua Carey

With UFC on Fox 2 just days away, UFC President Dana White late last night announced their return to the network on May 5.

Additionally, announced for the event is lightweight Nate Diaz squaring off against top-10 ranked Jim Miller and “TUF 14” winner John Dodson facing Darren Uyenoyama.

The event will take place at IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Diaz comes into the bout fresh off a record setting decision victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 141 this past December.

Since returning to the lightweight division Diaz has won back-to-back fights and now owns five “Fight of the Night” bonuses.

Miller’s been more impressive since joining the UFC roster by claiming 12 victories and only two losses.

His lone organizational defeats have come against number-one contenders Gray Maynard and Ben Henderson.

Miller staked his claim as a top-contender with a first-round submission victory over Melvin Guillard at this past weekend’s UFC on FX 1 headliner.

Lastly, the flyweight division has a pair of newcomers joining the roster when Dodson faces submission ace Uyenoyama.

While Dodson won this past season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, he’s yet to fight at a major event but that’s all set to change when he faces Uyenoyama.

A veteran of Strikeforce and Dream, Uyenoyama made an impressive debut Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto at the UFC inaugural foray on Fox.

While Diaz and Miller are slated for the Fox broadcast, the aforementioned Dodson and Uyenoyama will likely take part on the FUEL TV prelims.
