Faber

Demetrious Johnson not only recorded his third title defense at UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento, but the flyweight champ earned “Knockout of the Night” for his emphatic stoppage win over Joseph Benavidez.

Johnson crushed Benavidez with a right hand shortly into the bout and finished the deal with follow up punches from above. The champion also earned an extra $50,000 for the award.

“Submission of the Night” went to Urijah Faber, who tapped out Michael McDonald with a guillotine choke in round two, after stunning the rising bantamweight with a series of punches.

And “Fight of the Night” went to lightweights Danny Castillo and Edson Barboza for their exciting battle. Castillo rocked Barboza early on and appeared to be en route to victory, but the feared fighter survived to launch a comeback. In rounds two and three, Barboza punished Castillo with leg kicks and hard punches and picked up the unanimous decision win.
