After Nick Diaz showed up to the UFC 158 press conference, Dana White announced that he will “probably” cut Diaz from the UFC if he fails his UFC 158 drug test.  White made his feelings clear once the event, held at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada, concluded.

Coming after Diaz failed to appear at his open workouts in Montreal White spoke to MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani, who posted his comments on Twitter.

“Dana says if Nick tested positive for marijuana again they would “probably” have to cut him,” tweeted Helwani.

Diaz, who is coming off of a recent yearlong suspension due to prior marijuana infractions, also commented on his upcoming drug test, “Nick: I’m sorry if I don’t pass the test but I think it should work out. I wonder how much they test people around there,” tweeted Helwani.

Diaz’s issue with marijuana was also addressed during the conference itself. When asked about his failed test at UFC 143 he replied,

“I think I tested for metabolites, or a nanogram, or something so I just did a little more than I did last time, so sorry if I don’t pass the test, but I think it should work out.

White was also asked about his treatment of recently released welterweight Matthew Riddle,

During his media interactions Diaz also made sure to slip in yet another jab at the UFC regarding their drug test policies.  Diaz articulated his words clearly, eyeing Georges St-Pierre solemnly as he spoke,

“I’ve passed plenty of them before, unless they just weren’t testing me. I wonder how much they test people around here.”
