UFC Rankings Update: Gegard Mousasi Catapults Into Top Ten

Mousasi

By FCF Staff

Gegard Mousasi had one of his finest performances to date this past Saturday at UFC Fight Night 41, and the fighter has jumped into the promotion’s top ten, middleweight ranks as a result.

After tapping out fellow contender Mark Munoz in the first round, Mousasi has risen four spots and is now ranked #7. Munoz, on the other hand, has dropped from seventh to #9.

The fight, which went down in Berlin, marked the first time Mousasi had fought since February, when he lost by decision to Lyoto Machida.

CB Dollaway also got a boost from his victory at UFC FN 41, as the middleweight has entered the top 15 and is ranked #12. Dollaway worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Francis Carmont.

Stipe Miocic also benefitted from his most recent victory, as following his quick, stoppage win over Fabio Maldonado at the TUF Brazil III Finale, the heavyweight has moved up a spot to #6. Alistair Overeem, who had occupied that position, is now ranked #7.

The TUF Brazil III Finale was hosted by Sao Paulo.

The UFC rankings are determined by a panel of media members and are voted on after each event.
