UFC Vet Tim Hague Victorious With KOTC, MFC’s Mark Pavelich Hoping to Sign Rematch With Todd Duffee

Hague

Fresh off a stoppage win over Craig Hudson this weekend while competing for King of the Cage Canada, Tim Hague will turn his attention now to the Maximum Fighting Championship, which recently announced it had signed the UFC veteran.

With Saturday’s win, the 28 year-old Hague has now gone 4-1 in his last five fights, which includes wins over Travis Wiuff, Zak Jensen and Vince Lucero.

While an opponent for Hague’s promotional debut has not yet been confirmed, MFC owner Mark Pavelich informed FCF today that he’s interested in bringing in the man who promptly knocked out the heavyweight at UFC 102, Todd Duffee.

“Sanchez just lost so that takes the spark off him a bit in my opinion,” said Pavelich, who recently told The Score.com that he was exploring the possibility of signing Eddie Sanchez to fight Hague, before the veteran lost to Damian Grabowski Friday night. “So I’m looking more at Todd Duffee now to rematch Duffee and Tim Hague, than I would look for Eddie Sanchez.”

According to Pavelich, although he hasn’t talked to Duffee (7-2) about fighting Hague (14-5) specifically, the powerful fighter has expressed an interest in competing for the MFC.

Duffee is coming off a first round, TKO win over Neil Grove at Super Fight League 2 on April 27th. The 26 year-old fighter tweeted over the weekend that he “would really like to fight this summer.”

Pavelich added that he hopes to have the fight signed before the MFC’s next card Friday night, which will feature Nathan Coy taking on Ryan McGillivray for the vacant welterweight title.

The promoter expects Hague to make his MFC debut August 10th.

The May 4th card, which will be hosted by Edmonton’s Mayfield Trade Centre, will be broadcast live on HDNet.
