UFC’s Dana White Comments on Nate Diaz Missing Weight, Fighter’s Recent Complaints
By FCF Staff
Nate Diaz has making headlines lately, for missing weight, criticizing the UFC and missing an open workout, and UFC President Dana White evidently isn’t sure what to make of the situation.
Diaz relayed publicly for months that he was unhappy with his current UFC deal, but the sides reportedly came to some sort of agreement, and the fighter will battle Rafael dos Anjos next.
More recently, however, Diaz has criticized the UFC’s decision to sign pro-wrestler CM Punk, and the promotion’s new uniform deal. Then this week, he missed an open workout and also missed weight for his bout with dos Anjos.
While speaking to FOX Sports Live following the TUF 20 Finale last night, here is some of what White had to say about Diaz (quote via FOX Sports press release):
“The Nate Diaz thing is completely different,” said White, after discussing the fact that Charles Oliveira also missed weight. “He’s complaining about money, not showing up for appearances and he’s not making weight. I don’t know what to do with him.”
Tonight, Diaz is fighting for the first time since last November when he stopped Gray Maynard.
The noted finisher is 3-2 in his last 5 contests.
