Junior dos Santos was booked to fight Stipe Miocic in May, and the former champ is still hoping to face the rising heavyweight, when he returns from the injury that cancelled the bout.

Miocic and dos Santos were scheduled to fight at the TUF: Brazil III Finale, but the latter was forced to withdraw due to a broken hand. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting.com, “Cigano” relayed that he believes he’ll be ready to return to action in November.

In addition, dos Santos offered this, while discussing who he wants to fight in his return:

“Miocic is doing a good job, coming off great wins,” dos Santos said. “I was focused on fighting him before, trained for him, so I think it would be a good fight for me. It would be a beautiful fight for the fans as well.”

Dos Santos hasn’t fought now since last October, when he was stopped by champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 166.

Miocic ended up facing Fabio Maldonado in May, and stopped the veteran in 35 seconds to record his third straight win.
