It still remains to be seen if Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are going to in fact fight. But, UFC lightweight Kevin Lee says the latter’s camp has reached out to help the star prepare for the bout.

In recent weeks, the long discussed bout has gone from a fight that seemed extremely unlikely, to a match-up that could very well take place. Mayweather and McGregor have both said they’re nearing an agreement, and UFC President Dana White has also said he thinks the all-star bout will happen.

Recently Lee was interviewed by Eyes on The Game’s Helen Yee, and during it, the fighter said this (quote via Bloody Elbow):

“That fight with Floyd, it’s going to happen. Floyd’s management reached out to me a little while ago and asked me to be a part of the camp. So I’m excited to do that, I could use a couple bucks in my pocket, that’s for sure.”

“It’s a win-win situation for him (McGregor). If he loses — which he’s going to lose, he don’t stand a chance in the fight — he knows it going in he’s just there for the cash grab and then he’ll come back and fight (Nate) Diaz, or he’ll bump up and fight Tyron (Woodley), before he jumps down and messes with us real killers at 155. He ain’t stupid.”

Lee (15-2), meanwhile, is coming off  a submission win over Francisco Trinaldo earlier this month at UFC FN 106.
