Urijah Faber Plans to Make UFC on FOX 22 Bout His Last

It looks like the impressive and lengthy career of Urijah Faber will come to a close at UFC on FOX 22.

The former WEC featherweight champ is scheduled to fight Brad Pickett at the December 17th event, which will take place in Faber’s hometown of Sacramento. Faber appeared on “The MMA Hour” on Monday to discuss the bout, and during the interview, he relayed that he plans to retire after the bout.

Faber said that because the card is taking place in Sacramento, and in the city’s new Golden 1 Center, the 37 year-old believes it’s the “right time” to exit from fighting.

“The California Kid” is coming off consecutive, decision losses to bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz, and most recently Jimmie Rivera. Prior to those defeats, Faber earned a UD win over Frankie Saenz last December.
