Vacant Lonsdale Lightweight Title On The Line At BAMMA 27

By Press Release

With the Lonsdale Lightweight title currently sitting vacant, two of BAMMA’s latest undefeated signees put their unblemished records on the line for a chance at the coveted title.  Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee (4-0) last fought at BAMMA 26, where he beat veteran fighter Tommy ‘The Ghost’ McCafferty in devastating fashion, when he TKO’d McCafferty while he was held in a leg lock submission attempt.  The N.I. Next Generation star gets to go for gold on the same night as his team mate Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott, who has his own quest for glory in the Main event against Tom ‘Firekid’ Duquesnoy.  Ready to add his first piece of gold to his trophy cabinet the fast rising star is ready to take his place in history.

Jai Herbert (4-0) returns once more to BAMMA, this time in his first title bout for the promotion.  With his last two wins coming within the promotion, Herbert now gets the chance to elevate his status even higher on one of the biggest platforms in Europe.  The Wolfpack MMA fighter made a huge impact in his last fight as he defeated the vaunted Tony Morgan at BAMMA 25.  Already one of the bouts that has everyone talking, when McKee and Herbert meet expect a spectacular contest.

Also added to the fight card this week is Ian ‘Concrete’ Cleary Vs. Andrew ‘Lofty’ Lofthouse (as exclusively revealed by MMA Plus) in a Bantamweight bout and Keith ’The Butcher’ McCabe Vs. Richie Kieley. Ian Cleary (0-0) is a hugely popular fighter in Dublin and makes his pro debut in front of his home crowd as he takes on Andrew Lofthouse (0-0),  a former Muay Thai & K1 fighter who has decided to make the jump to MMA.  Keith McCabe (2-2) is making his second appearance at BAMMA after his victorious debut against Aiden Brooks at BAMMA 26.  The Team Ryano fighter is looking to make it two wins from two and push towards a chance at the Welterweight title scene.  Richie Kiely (0-0) is another pro debutant, who takes to the big stage to put a marker down.  Fighting out of SBG in Dublin, Kieley will want to get his pro career off to winning ways on December 16th.
