Vanderlei Silva Is A Married Man!

Vanderlei Silva is a Married Man!
By Eduardo Alonso
Mr. and Mrs. Silva

Last Friday, in the beautiful city of Curitiba, the "Axe Murderer" Vanderlei Silva became no longer available! FCF had the pleasure to attend to Vanderlei’s wedding party, at a beautiful restaurant in Curitiba, where he and his wife, Tea Ariadne, received close to 200 guests to celebrate the union of the couple.
The religious ceremony was beautiful and almost made one of the most feared man in NHB cry. There were tears in Vanderlei’s eyes as the preacher made a very touching speech about his life, and the years that lay ahead of the couple. "There’s no way not to get touched at moments like this. I’m very happy!" said the only man to beat Sakuraba twice. Among the guests at the party were practically the whole Chute Boxe team, including the best men for the wedding, Chute Boxe coach Rudimar Fedrigo and his fiance, Pele Landi and his wife, as well as Rafael Cordeiro and his wife. Also Murilo Ninja was present as a guest, despite being injured and sporting crutches. After the religious ceremony all the guests were treated to a fine dinner, and later there was a dance party where the "Axe Murderer" could be seen dancing the waltz with his wife, in a rare scene. It was visible that the PRIDE middleweight champion was very happy about getting married and wasn’t worried about partying anymore! "With all the success and the media a lot of girls start to appear in your life, but on the other hand it gets more difficult for you to find someone that is really interested in you, or a serious woman you know. And I saw all that in my wife. She is really supporting me, and gives me a good base, even to hold me a bit, because a single guy goes out a lot to the nightclubs, and dates a lot of girls and stuff, and this isn’t very good for an athlete."
Vanderlei is also known for his very serious training, when asked if his new life would affect his career he promptly replied, "Nothing will affect my training. Today, on the wedding day, I didn’t train, but yesterday I was lifting weights, running and stuff. So I believe that my professional career has nothing to do with my personal life and you have to know how to split your time." With a smile on his face, he also went on to say what could possibly change in the life of the "Axe Murderer" now that he is a married man: "It’ll affect the fact that now I don’t fight only for myself, but I’ll fight for her too! So if the guys were scared of me before, now things will get even tougher. There were a lot of people talking about me, they better be careful, because a fish dies from his mouth!" After the beautiful ceremony Vanderlei Silva told FCF that he would be back in training on Monday. And his honeymoon would have to be postponed until after his first title defense on February 22nd at PRIDE 19! "Only after Tamura! Tamura will send me to Tahiti [Laughs]"
FCF was very happy to be present at Vanderlei’s wedding, and we wish nothing but the best for the couple in the years to come. Check out FCF’s February issue for more details about the wedding.
