Vitor Belfort Releases Statement Admitting to Elevated Testosterone Levels in Random NSAC Test

Vitor Belfort

By FCF Staff

There’s been widespread speculation as to whether Vitor Belfort passed a random drug test he was required to take by the Nevada State Athletic Commission earlier this year, and now the fighter has provided an answer.

Belfort has released the following statement, regarding the aforementioned test, which took place when he was scheduled to fight middleweight champ Chris Weidman at UFC 173. The fighter has also released the results of his recent drug tests.

After the NSAC’s decision to ban testosterone-replacement-therapy, Belfort withdrew from the bout, and Weidman was booked to fight Lyoto Machida July 5th. Belfort is currently in the process of securing a license in Nevada to fight Chael Sonnen that same night.
