Wanderlei Silva Blasts UFC in Retirement Announcement
By FCF Staff
One of mixed-martial-arts greatest fighters ever has called it quits on his storied career, as Wanderlei Silva has announced he’s retiring at the age of 38.
During his retirement announcement, posted above, Silva blasted the UFC and claims the promotion has destroyed his will to fight.
Silva is currently embroiled in a conflict with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which is seeking to discipline the fighter, after he did not submit to a random drug test earlier this year.
The former PRIDE champion finishes his career having gone 35-12-1 since he turned pro in 1996.
