Luis Palomino recorded his second stoppage win with World Series of Fighting last night, and in doing so, the vet handed Lewis Gonzalez his first defeat to date.

Speaking after the bout, which saw Palomino stop Gonzalez with a head kick and strikes, the lightweight relayed (quotes via WSOF press release):

“I’m a natural-born striker,” Palomino said. “I love knocking people out. I feel like that’s something I had over him. And the experience factor.”

“The kid has a bright future. His strength is his wrestling and he really believes in the wrestling; that’s how he’s won most of his fights. So whether he’s feeling good or if he’s feeling under pressure, he’s always looking for the takedown. So I just had to wait, time it right and clip him.”

The 33 year-old veteran extended his overall record to 23-9 with the victory, and has inserted himself into the WSOF title shot mix.

WSOF 12 was hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
