WSOF 18: Bantamweight Champ Marlon Moraes to Face Josh Hill

By FCF Staff

World Series of Fighting has announced that a bantamweight fight between champion Marlon Moraes and Josh Hill will headline the promotion’s next event on February 12th.

WSOF 18 will be hosted by the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, and the main card will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.

“This is an incredible matchup between two of the world’s top 135 pound fighters that we have been looking to put together for the last several months and, now that it is finally here, we will see who the superior fighter is on February 13,” WSOF President Ray Sefo was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion.

Moraes and Hill were scheduled to fight at WSOF 13 last September, but the latter had to withdraw from the event. Moraes (13-4-1) went on to submit Cody Bollinger in the second round.

Hill (10-0), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since June, 2014, when he KO’d Mike Adams at WSOF Canada 2.

The promotion has also announced the main card for WSOF 18,  which will feature Chris Gruetzemacher (12-1) vs. featherweight Antonio Carvalho (15-6),  welterweight Shane “Shaolin” Campbell (10-2) vs. Brandt Dewsbery (13-3-1) and Hakeem Dawodu (3-0) vs. featherweight Tristan Johnson (9-5).

The preliminary card is expected to be announced soon.
