Andrei Arlovski may have silenced some of his critics who argue he has a weak chin at WSOF 5 tonight, as the former UFC champ survived two knockdowns to score a unanimous decision win over Mike Kyle.

The heavyweight fight was almost spent entirely on its feet, and featured several violent striking exchanges. On two occasions, the heavy hitting Kyle dropped Arlovski to the mat with right hands, but the experienced vet was able to get right back up both times.

Throughout much of the bout Arlovski was the aggressor and appeared to throw more strikes, but the heavier shots were landed by “MAK.” In the end, Arlovski was handed a 29-28 score by all three judges, before he called for a rematch with Anthony Johnson (who beat him by UD in March).

The middleweight tourney, semifinal bout between Elvis Mutapcic and Jesse Taylor was canceled, reportedly due to the commission’s suspicion that Mutapcic took some sort of prescription drug beforehand. Mutapcic has denied he took anything and has volunteered to have his blood tested.
