World Series of Fighting (WSOF) bantamweight Carson Beebe will face the hardest test of his MMA career when he fights Marlon Moraes during the co-main event of WSOF 6 tonight.

“I am expecting the toughest fight I’ve ever had – expect to push myself and test myself (in there) and make it through a really tough battle; he’s a tough guy… we’ll see who is tougher,” Beebe recently told Full Contact Fighter. “No head games, we’re going to go out there and fight.”

Beebe has largely fought on the regional circuit, and has shown a solid mix of wrestling and submission fighting – winning five of his 14 pro career fights by submission.

Meanwhile, Moraes is a BJJ brown belt and has beaten the likes of Tyson Nam, Miguel Torres, and Deividas Taurosevicius throughout his young career – and is comfortable both on the feet and when the fight hits the ground.

In addition to MMA, Carson also works as a consultant and racks up long hours during the business week grind, which he must balance with his training.

“Work makes it a bit more difficult. (I work) 10 hours days, hit my cardio at lunch breaks, and then go train at night at Gilbert Grappling or my gym, Beebe Trained. On the weekends I try to get it in as hard as I can. I’m never one to shy away from hard work.”

To wrap up our conversation, Beebe briefly discussed one of the driving motivations for when he gets into the cage.

“My whole MMA career, I am using the MMA platform to expose my Christian faith – just to show the power faith can have. Stepping into the cage is pretty scary and I get nervous before I fight, and I look up and pray and have faith that He is going to get me through it. I’m hoping I can have a positive impact on others.”

It’s refreshing to speak with fighters like Beebe, as he has a certain hunger and desire to prove himself in the cage. Not only does he have to balance family and full-time work with his MMA career, but he has to remain focused on everything he does.
