WSOF 9: Josh Burkman vs. Tyler Stinson Among Latest Additions
By FCF Staff
World Series of Fighting has announced three more bouts for its March 29th event in Las Vegas, including a welterweight fight between Josh Burkman and Tyler Stinson.
Burkman (26-10) will be looking to rebound from his choke-out loss to Steve Carl in October, which handed the latter the first WSOF welterweight title. Prior to the loss Burkman had won five straight.
Stinson (27-9), meanwhile, is riding a four fight win streak. Most recently, at WSOF 8 in January, Stinson stopped Valdir Araujo in the third round.
“We were already excited for this card with our welterweight champion Steve Carl facing Rousimar Palhares and Marlon Moraes facing Josh Rettinghouse for our inaugural featherweight title,” World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion. “But now we’re adding a big welterweight fight with two fan favorites in Josh Burkman and Tyler Stinson, as well as two key bouts that could see some of our developing contenders make a big statement in the lightweight and featherweight divisions.”
WSOF has also announced that lightweight Ozzy Dugulubgov (5-1) will battle Johnny Nunez (4-0) on March 29th, and that featherweight Mike Corey (12-3-1) will face Shane Kruchten (11-2).
WSOF 9 will be hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the main card will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
