World Series of Fighting has announced the semifinal match-ups for the promotion’s upcoming middleweight tourney, which will see the winner secure the #1 contender spot. The competition will get underway at WSOF 5 on September 14th, which will take place at the Revel Casino Hotel’s Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.

In one semifinal bracket David Branch (12-3) will take on Danillo Villefort (14-4). Branch is coming off a unanimous decision win over Paulo Filho in March, while Villefort (14-4) scored a split decision win over Kris McKray in his last outing.

In the other semi, promotional newcomers Elvis Mutapcic (13-2) and Jesse Taylor (26-9) will fight. Mutapcic recently ended a three fight win streak with the Maximum Fighting Championship, where he won the organization’s belt.

Taylor hasn’t fought since May, when he submitted John Phillips, while competing for the Cage Warrior Fighting Championships. The TUF vet has won six straight fights.

WSOF 5 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between Anthony Johnson and Mike Kyle, and the card will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
