It didn’t take Jake Shields long to find a new employer, as less than two weeks after the welterweight was released by the UFC, World Series of Fighting has announced it’s signed the 35 year-old vet.

Shields was let go after he was decisioned by Hector Lombard at UFC 171 in March. The move surprised some observers throughout the MMA world, since the renowned grappler had gone undefeated in his four fights prior.

The former Strikeforce champ went 4-3, with 1 no contests, during his run in the UFC.

WSOF tweeted the news of Shields’ signing, and added that details regarding his promotional debut will be announced soon.
