Strikeforce Releases Brett Rogers

By FCF Staff

Immediately following news of  his arrest, Brett Rogers was released by Strikeforce, said UFC President Dana White at a UFC 132 press conference today.

Rogers was arrested in Apple Valley, Minn. on Wednesday on three felony charges and a misdemeanor charge after allegedly assaulting his wife.  According to the official police report, Rogers admitted that he had been drinking prior to the altercation.

Rogers was released on $100,000 bail and is due back in court on Friday at 11 a.m. CT.

Two weeks ago, Rogers suffered his third defeat in his last four appearances when he tapped out to an arm triangle choke applied by Josh Barnett in their Strikeforce World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament quarterfinal round bout at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
