Prestige FC is immensely excited to announce a long-sought-after female fight that is sure to be an action-packed clash to the Prestige FC 1: Atonement lineup. After two previous encounters, top-10 ranked Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet and Anna “Smiles” Barone will complete their trilogy and long-standing rivalry (pending Commission approval).

The bout will take place at a catchweight of 155 pounds, and will be one of the main-card feature fights on Saturday, October 24th inside Crescent Point Place in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

“Both sides have been trying to nail down a third fight and end this rivalry once and for all,” said Prestige FC Matchmaker Cord Crowthers. “Tweet and Barone want to settle the issue between them. The time is right to make it happen. Prestige FC 1 is Saskatchewan’s first true home-bred mixed martial arts event so it is fitting that we have what will be the clear-cut best women’s fight in Canada in 2015.”

The pair initially met in 2011 on an all-female fights event in North Carolina with Barone scoring a flash knockout win just 18 seconds into the matchup. Last May, they met again in Montreal with Tweet finishing off Barone in just over three minutes by submission via rear-naked choke.

Now in Tweet’s backyard, they meet again with bragging rights on the line. “With my total domination and mauling of Anna last year, I thought I proved that her flash KO of me in 2011 was a fluke. However, it appears she wants some more and I am happy to oblige but, I doubt I will provide her with any mercy submission this time especially if she misses weight again,” said Tweet. “I am out for blood.”

Tweet’s career is highlighted by bouts against the two best female fighters in the world – Ronda Rousey and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. The Regina, Saskatchewan, product has racked up five victories by way of submission – all five coming inside the first round.

Barone, who is now coached by former UFC and TUF standout Rich “No Love” Clementi, has notched both of her wins by knockout. In another women’s bout, Bobbi Jo Dalziel of Sarnia, Ontario, who was slated to be Tweet’s original opponent, will now face rugged Christina Barry of Winnipeg, Manitoba, in a catchweight bout at 150 pounds. These two fights have been added to an already stacked lineup for Prestige FC 1.

The final fight card will be announced shortly.
