Prospect Tim Elliott Replacing Darren Uyenoyama vs. Jon Dodson at UFC on FOX 3
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s upcoming May 5th “Diaz vs. Miller” has undergone a fairly late change, as the promotion has confirmed that Timothy Elliott will fight Jon Dodson instead of Darren Uyenoyama.
No official announcement has been made as to why the switch occurred, however, Elliott has replaced Uyenoyama on the UFC website’s fight card for the upcoming event.
Elliott (8-2-1) will make his UFC debut having won eight straight fights, which includes wins over former UFC lightweight champ Jens Pulver and most recently Josh Rave.
Dodson (12-5) is coming off a TKO stoppage of T.J. Dillashaw in December, which entrenched the flyweight as the TUF 14 winner.
The Team Jackson-Winkeljohn has won three consecutive fights and is 4-1 in his last five.
The upcoming UFC on FOX 3 card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Jim Miller and Nate Diaz.
The card, which will be broadcast on FOX, will be hosted by the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Some of the other bouts confirmed for the event’s main card include Josh Koscheck vs. Johny Hendricks, Pat Barry vs. Lavar Johnson and Alan Belcher vs. Rousimar Palhares.
