Quote of the Day: Michael Bisping Talks Alan Belcher and Tim Boetsch: “I’m Looking Forward to These Two Simpletons Keeping Their Pie Hole Shut”
By FCF Staff
Michael Bisping has of course never been shy about sharing his thoughts or responding to his detractors, and the middleweight contender continues to do so as he prepares for his January 17th bout with Vitor Belfort.
In a recent blog post the British fighter authored for Yahoo, Bisping took aim at middleweights Tim Boetsch and Alan Belcher, who have publicly expressed an interest in fighting the vet for some time. Of course, both Belcher and Boetsch were handed losses at UFC 155, as Belcher lost by unanimous decision to Yushin Okami and the latter was stopped by Costa Philippou.
After relaying his “commiserations” towards Belcher and Boetsch, and adding that “I respect all my fellow fighters”, Bisping proceeded to add:
I’d like to say I’m looking forward to these two simpletons keeping their pie holes shut about me for a little while. Those two have been calling me out and talking crap for months, and I would have got some real enjoyment beating them in the Octagon but two no-marks took that glory.
Bisping also added his contention that the Belcher, Okami bout was “like someone detonated a nuclear bomb of boredom in the arena.”
The 33 year-old vet, who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Brian Stann in September, also stated that he is remaining focused on Belfort rather than looking forward to a title shot with Anderson Silva. As Bisping noted, the last two times he’s been a win away from securing a championship bout appearance, he was KO’d by Dan Henderson and lost by unanimous decision to Chael Sonnen.
